I wrote this, tell me what you think…?

Posted on March 31st, 2010 by admin in best things in life are unseen | 5 Comments »

This is two verses and chorus of a song I wrote called This Is Life. Tell me what you think…

Sittin in a corner, staring at my reflection,
I look into the mirror, i see past Devil Interactions,
The Reality of Life, is hard to believe,
The unseen shows alot to be, from me, to see,
To see the world, through a new pair of eyes,
I try to sense the changes of the patterns in the sky,
The heartbeat of life, starts to beat rapidly,
Everytime the girl I love, gets up next to me,
Thats my change, the one thats supposed to change constantly,
From happy to sad, and everything in between,
She changed my life, and me for the better,
If she didnt turn me around, I’d probably be a drug tester,
A Drug Addict, who dont give a fuck about a thing,
A Life rotting man, who’s years away are wasting,
But hell no, I am who I am today,
All because of her, I’m still able to stay,
In the world,
When she’s with me, it makes the fears gone,
I keep her close to my heart, because I know our love will stay long,
If I die soon, dont cry to much,
Becuz you’ve got to remember that I’ll always be in touch,
In my lifetime, there’s so many ways to die,
There’s only small, unmarked ways to survive,
You’ve got to take pre-caution, and keep the mind straight,
Cuz you never know when fate, will take over it,
Keep in mind, that in the love you make,
Leave a little piece of yourself, and be sure to create it,
Mold it and shape it, into something great,
and always make sure that it has a clean slate,
This is Life….

*Chorus*
This is the life that we live,
Trying to survive, everyday, tryin to get something to give,
This is the way, that we channel our lives,
With 24 hours each day, in dark and in light
(X2)

Life is nothing, but a fucked up dream,
Except the only difference, is that your not sleeping,
Its all real, everything you do and say has an impact,
Even the simplest as a butterflies flutter, can change all that,
If you wanna head to hell, the world will surely end up there,
So I’d live a life, a long life, of love and no despair,
I’m doin that, I may not be the best person,
And even when I’m not around, the life keeps turning,
Silence kills all, the most awkward times come,
If death starts heading towards you, you’d better run,
Dont let it shape you, into a hell bent fiend,
Just be a good person, and try to stay clean,
What your rights are, may be wrong to some,
Richie neighborhoods, have different rules than the slums,
Bigots go to hell, them racist fucks,
But they’ll start to apologize, when Demons rip them up,
In life, all that we need is a guide,
Everything will play out itself, and you’re along for the ride,
It all happens for a reason, Fate takes a part in all,
If your destined to rule all, in the end you’ll surely fall,
Thats just the way it all works, from your first to your last minute,
I’ll always remember, all the people that were in it,
In my life, the people that were always there for me,
I’ll definately see them all in Heaven,
This is Life….

sounds like you have some influences from maybe alice in chains, tool, stone temple pilots, rage against the machine… those are the top that come to mind but many others.. am i right on any of this? lol

as a musician (12+ years), vocalist, lyricist, and composer, myself, i’d say it’s pretty darn good. when i read it the first time i almost heard a tune to go along with it, like i could really put something together with it.. tho, i would NEVER steal someone else’s work. i only take someone else’s work WITH PERMISSION. i’d love to work on it, you can email me at renee.spires@yahoo.com if you don’t mind for me and my band to do some work with it.. i don’t know what you’re attempting to do with it, that’s why i ask.

but yes, it is very good. i like it alot.

What is allowed legally as far as verbal language & physical contact in society today?

Posted on March 31st, 2010 by admin in unseen so this is freedom | 1 Comment »

I’m confused. I’m not even sure if we have the right to express ourselves anymore or act in any way other than being a drone. Even the other day my own family was like "look, you have to act/look a certain way to get a good job, HELLO." I said of course, but I"m sick of all the phony stuff in society & everyone just walking around trying to act nice to everyone else. what about self expression?

YOu can’t call someone fat, or any other adjective anymore really without there being either some sort of a complaint, a problem, a lawsuit even.

YOu can’t even act a certain way, other than acting like a pleasant conformist sheep, or someone will have a problem with it.

But you know the irony here? Even with all these (mostly unseen) laws of society, look at how it doesn’t work? We have gangs, lots of violence, and misery/bs at an all time high!

But my question is, are we allowed to speak our minds, call someone whatever we want to, within reason of course, and just pretty much carry on in anyway we please, or are there certain rules/restrictions.

For example, some people even get bent out of shape if they even remotely THINK you don’t like them…and try to start drama.

I’m sensing this tug of war at our freedoms in the US, so that’s why I want to personally ask the law/police section exactly….

what we we exatly allowed to do as far as verbal and physical expression, physical meaning, is hand shaking even allowed anymore? LOL.

what’s over the line, what’s considered illegal, and what’s still within OK boundaries?

It’s all about HOW you do it.
Express yourself, be who you are but KNOW HOW to do it.
Language and body language – advance your vocabulary and watch your physical expressions & motions. Keep your hands to yourself, learn to distinguish between what thoughts are necessary to express versus which ones are best kept to yourself.

You’ll be surprised how easily you can be yourself and express your mind without "causing trouble" just by learning how to do it.

Anyone else remember this shark movie? May have been an after school special in the 70’s.?

Posted on March 31st, 2010 by admin in unseen the movie | 4 Comments »

The movie was about two chldhood friends (boy and girl) and an old man. The boy finds a shark in a tidal pool and touches it /picks it up. The old man tells him that the shark is now imprinted/bonded to him. As the boy gets older he carries out the old man’s last wish (to be buried at sea with sharks so that his soul can transfer to a shark. The girl and her parents move away. The boy grows up and indeed the shark stays near him. Years later the girl returns to visit. The boy lives in a floating shack at the end of a pier with a hatch in the floor. She see’s this and is in disbelief that the shark really made the bond with him and he still has it. He then pulls out a sketch book where he had been sketching her unseen for all the years she was gone. The sketches are so accurate they could be photographs, even as her hairstyle changed through the years. I don’t remember how the movie ends. I think I was about 10 years old when I saw this movie. Thank you for your help

…I remember seeing this very compelling adventure/drama, when I was younger, sometime in the seventies; I think that the film is called "Tiko and the Shark", from 1964, but I’m not entirely sure. The webpage below seems to run parallel to what I remember, and also what you describe…

…hope that this is it!!!

poetry help, HELP! please?

Posted on March 31st, 2010 by admin in unseen line | 9 Comments »

Im doing a poetry project due on monday.. there are 13 questions for 13 different poems, and here is a poem I chose.. so can someone tell me the meaning or subject of it? Im terrible at poetry.

It is called Busking, by Barbara Nickel.

We play near arging cheese and scattered rice,
among the pumpkins, gulls and smell of fish,
breezes, clatter jesting on my face,
the jostles of the crowd and passing swish
of silk unseen. Our lines of music join
the cappuccino screams, juggle above
a pile of ripe tomatoes; seeds spill down,
and juice and music mash up in a sieve;
Mozart, the people shout. I laugh as doors
open, wind snatching notes and rumpling clothes.
Our cases on the wet and sticky floor,
the clinking of coins on velvet, crumpled bills.
Beside my violin, a tiny boy
is moving to the shadow of my joy.

and my question is just to respond to the poem.
Anyone in High School English may be using this book… called "Inside Poetry" by Richard Davies and Jerry Wowk

You’re not terrible at understanding poetry, it is just that you haven’t learned enough to have a better understanding of it. I think this poem is a good example in learning to understand poetry. In prose and non-prose, the author tries to not only evoke our emotion but also our senses ( sight, touch, smell, hearing, and taste). It’s about a concert violinist who goes to a farmer’s market, and perform her music.
Now how do we know the violinist is a concert violinist? We assume he/she is because for one thing she is playing Mozart.
How do we know it is a farmer’s market? You have all those trash, smell, even gulls that love garbage, people, fresh produce, maybe a cafe (because of the cappuccino). If you have been to such place, the imageries will bring you back to the place. It’s as if we can almost smell the funk – it might be something you might miss because it brings back memories, even though it is smelly. If you haven’t been to such place, then you can only imagine the smell – fishy, smelly cheese (aging cheese)… It’s a dirty place. The floor, sidewalk, the street are littered with spilled rice, pumpkins, fish waste… and the floor is sticky…
Now we can hear the musicality of street. The musician is playing her violin, we know that. We also hear the street noise, but are they noise or are they like part of the orchestra playing with her. You can hear the cappucino machine sing, the percussion of the coins and clothes, the swishing of the juice…
Then there’s that tiny boy dancing with the music. Who is that boy? Why is that boy there? Why is the boy important in the poem? I’ll just tell you who the boy is and, just think about it – it is pretty much explained. Just try to see the whole image in your mind. The boy is the shadow of the violin.
What is the aspect of the poem? It has to deal with the shadow. Who is it for, is it for the character (violinist) or for the reader?
With all these to think about, read the poem again and again, till you experience it fully. You have to work on it, too, do not just take the word of another person. For all you know, I might be wrong.

Some words to throw sugar beets and cabbage towards?

This place… avoided
all to often the destination
My sanity checked at the door
hope like dreams can find no purchase

This place…cold like granite
hard and everlasting
My cottons given to another
has left me exposed yet unseen

This place…filled with echoes
of those who came before
My screams “HERE I AM”
as futile as these words

I hate hospitals, too.
The second stanza screams all on its own…
hardly a futile write.

keep writing, get it out, trying, trying times.

How much of your life goes unseen by others?

Posted on March 31st, 2010 by admin in unseen | 16 Comments »

Not necessarily things you hide, but just in general what no one knows about. Secrets about yourself that no one knows, things you do when no one else is around, stuff you might watch or read that no one sees.

about 95% of it. amazing.

Six’s Gunslinger Girl AMV “The Way You Do The Things You Do”

Posted on March 30th, 2010 by admin in best things in life are unseen | 25 Comments »

Click that blue link that reads “more”.

Premise: How to put this….

First off, I probably should say, if you’re a straight male, this won’t be your cup of tea, more than likely. XD But there is more than your fair share of hott females out there for you guys, and I’m sure the subtlety of this would be uninteresting to you. Or maybe I’m assuming too much? Well, we’ll see. This AMV really has very little to do with Gunslinger Girls, though.

It’s about that “Tie Thing” that José does that inspired this. Hmmmm. Or, as my wonderiffic best friend put it, “Tie Pron”. XD

Specifically, it’s the way José pulls at his collar or tie when he’s nervous and/or making an important decision. But in a broader sense, it’s that unconscious thing, that certain action, that when that certain someone does it, kinda makes you drool.. ~.^ There’s gotta be someone out there who knows what I’m trying to say. Here’s hoping!

I could make thousands of these just to the stuff that Abel Nightroad, of “Trinity Blood” infamy, does that is freaking drool-worthy. =D This time, however, I chose José from “Gunslinger Girl”. But believe me, Father Nightroad isn’t off the hook just yet. Muhaha!

So, just what did I do in this AMV…

First, I introduce you to our hero, José, who will be asking an unseen lady out on a date. Yep. ^.^ You’ll see him get up the nerve to go ask her, have a drink at her place, and then spend sometime thinking about her and that upcoming date when really, he should be working.

Next, just like any one in love, he goes outside to admire nature, and espies some lovebirds in the sky. Then the date…he shows up with a present for his girl, makes sweet faces, takes her to see the ocean, worries about the restaurant choice, and finally eats! Of course, there are a few days of him contemplating the timing of calling her after the date, noted by the close ups of his face.

Finally, he decides to pay her a surprise visit. How that went can be left to your imaginations. At the end, we see José waving farewell to our unseen heroine with a kinda confused look on his face, and speeding off into the night in his Porsche.

Yes, José, we women know that we’re mad confusing. ~.^ That’s the story, and I worked in some imagery evoactive of the lyrics. I’m going for drool-worthy here, maybe even swoon-worthy. ^.^

All in fun, and more an homage to my fellow fan girls than anything since the only thing it has in common with the “Gunslinger Girl” anime is José, the character. Fan service in a way. LOL! I hope someone “gets” this! Enjoy.

Lyrics:

You got a smile so bright
You know you could have been a candle
I’m holding you so tight
You know you could have been a handle
The way you swept me off my feet
You know you could’ve been a broom
And babe you smell so sweet
You know you could’ve been some perfume

(Chorus)
Well you could’ve been anything that you wanted to
I can tell
The way you do the things you do
I like the way you do the things you do

As pretty as you are
You know you could’ve been a flower
If good looks were minutes
You know you could have been an hour
The way you stole my love
You know you could have been a crook
And baby you’re so smart
You know you could have been a school book

(Chorus)
Well you could’ve been anything that you wanted to
I can tell
The way you do the things you do
I like the way you do the things you do

You make my life so rich
You know you could’ve been some money
And baby you’re so sweet
You know you could have been some honey

(Chorus)
Well you could’ve been anything that you wanted to
I can tell
The way you do the things you do
I like the way you do the things you do

As pretty as you are
You know you could’ve been a flower
If good looks were minutes
You know you could have been an hour
The way you stole my love
You know you could have been a crook
And baby you’re so smart
You know you could have been a school book

(Chorus)
Well you could’ve been anything that you wanted to
I can tell
The way you do the things you do
I like the way you do the things you do

Well you could’ve been anything that you wanted to
I can tell

The way you do the things you do
I like the way you do the things you do(x5)

You make my life so sweet(x4)
The way you do the things you do

Rollins Band – Alien Blueprint

Posted on March 30th, 2010 by admin in unseen explode | 13 Comments »

you reached out, you got burned, made tough by the lessons you learned
you never thought they could be so mean,
be so hard and cause you so much pain
like a fool you tried again, you really wanted to be their friend
but looking back you see they just wasted your time (3x)
self loathing, the anger inside, you covered it up with pride, you always
found a way to
blame it on yourself, on yourself, blame it on yourself
looking back you get yourself together…
looking back you get to go on…
looking back you see that you
get to change your mind about yourself and you get to go on…
so mad, so mean, the pain remained unseen
all that time pent up wanting to explode (3x)
what they did, the things the said, you wished that you were dead
anything not to have to deal with them (3x)
they made you hate, you couldn’t wait to go out and do something great
turn around and throw it right back in their face (4x)
looking back you get yourself together
looking back you see all the hatred inside
now you see that you get to change your mind about yourself
and you get to go on, so go on..!
looking back you see you just wasted your time
buying into the talk and the lies
looking back you see all you’ve got is yourself
you can tell by the look in their eyes
alien man, I’m an alien man, I’m an alien man, I’m an alien man… yeah!
now you see how you are, the wisdom mixed it with all the scars
go on out and watch all the fools passes souls on by
they never knew, they never do, it was always up to you
you gotta go out and get it for yourself (3x)
you never were one of them, they could have never been your friends
the best revenge is to always survive yourself [repeat bunch of times]
