How should I answer unseen poetry questions?
I’ve got my GCSE English Literature exam tomorrow and because im doing it with WJEC I will have to answer an unseen poetry question. How should I do it like in stages to obtain maximum marks?
Thanks
like what should i write in the intro and what in all the other paragraphs.
Hi,
I always find the best way to answer textual analysis on poetry is to first strip down the poem. Go through all the stanzas and cirle, highlight or mark anything specific, like metaphors similes and personification.
Then go on and work out the structure, is it free verse or rythmical? And find rough meaning for the poem, what it means on the surface, EG, Caroline Duffy’s Valentine is about Valentines day.
Now go onto the questions and put in as much technical jargon you can, eg this METAPHOR or The PERSONIFICATION etc….
Always check to make sure you have answered enough for the marks shown.
Hope this helps, but as im from Scotland we do Highers, not GCSE’s so your layout may be different. Good Luck, i hope you pass, xx
Believers, have you noticed these characteristics of atheists?
I see great many atheists posting to R & S forum. I wonder if they do not
believe in God, what they were doing in this forum. OK if a Christian or
Muslim defends his belief in unseen God, he expects a reward from his
God, But who is going to reward the atheists for their nonsensical posts?
Obviously they are serving a hidden master.
A real atheist would try to extract juice from every second of his life on
earth, because to him it is the only life. The believers spend time in
worship or discussion about God and prophets etc, but why an atheist
talk about belief system of Christianity.
Have you noticed that they are very arrogant, uncompromising and adamant
and criticize you for minor errors and pose as if they are the only ones who
know anything and they do their best to hit and degrade you, so that you
do not stand up to them and show them a mirror of their mistakes.
Do you think that spread of atheism is the secret agenda of powers that be?
No. I think that some people like to pt down other people, and since those are the only ones who would bother posting to a christian forum when they are atheist, that’s the only sample you have to draw from. I’m atheist but I don’t go around telling Christian that they must be wrong because, frankly, I wouldn’t know and don’t feel the need to argue.
The Things I See: by D-man
Dillon wrote this rap poem.
Lyrics:
Questions no answers flowing through my head
Totally silent like the day of the living dead
Passing me by one by one, trouble on the news kids carrying guns
Will it ever stop the beating of the city,
Tears cried from a child whose parents are always hitting,
Too sad a song for one boy to sing, looking up to rappers do drugs and get that bling
Trying to get the best for the little child
Child abandoned at least that’s how he feels inside
Things I see on a day to day basis
People on t.v. shout and bein racists,
Why do they see color, not just see me,
Young man tries to make it in spite of all these things,
Liars and backstabbers, deceivers are there to,
Hearing all these things hard to tell what’s true
People talk behind your back say one thing do another
Turn your back on friends even their own brother.
Things I see on a day to day basis
People fighting, in each others faces,
Calm down can’t we get along
Tired of these wars countries dropping bombs.
Races, religions these are your reasons,
Sayin “I believe in God” actin like a heathen
Marriages ending kids don’t understand,
Thrown into the roll boy into a man.
Girls getting pregnant barely 16,
Life unlived, many places still unseen
3rd world countries not food enough for one to eat
Parents getting mad kids getting beat.
Too much for one teen to handle,
So he turns to once good now a vandal.
These are the problems our generation must face,
Everything depending on money, stature and race.
Things I see on a day to day basis
So much talent why must it be wasted,
Thrown away like a piece of trash,
Smoked up burnt out nothing but stinkin ash
Problems I see not wanting my kids to see,
Too many young ones without families, let us fix these problems our generation must we face, don’t let anything depend on money stature or race.
Make these things be what we used to see on a day to day basis, clean up the world and all it’s jacked up places.

bruce springsteen jungleland vocal cover
ive added the vocal to this track
The rangers had a homecoming in Harlem late last night
And the Magic Rat drove his sleek machine over the Jersey state line
Barefoot girl sitting on the hood of a Dodge
Drinking warm beer in the soft summer rain
The Rat pulls into town rolls up his pants
Together they take a stab at romance and disappear down Flamingo Lane
Well the Maximum Lawman run down Flamingo chasing the Rat and the barefoot girl
And the kids round here look just like shadows always quiet, holding hands
From the churches to the jails tonight all is silence in the world
As we take our stand down in Jungleland
The midnight gang’s assembled and picked a rendezvous for the night
They’ll meet ‘neath that giant Exxon sign that brings this fair city light
Man there’s an opera out on the Turnpike
There’s a ballet being fought out in the alley
Until the local cops, Cherry Tops, rips this holy night
The street’s alive as secret debts are paid
Contacts made, they vanished unseen
Kids flash guitars just like switch-blades hustling for the record machine
The hungry and the hunted explode into Rock ‘N’ Roll bands
That face off against each other out in the street down in Jungleland
In the parking lot the visionaries dress in the latest rage
Inside the backstreet girls are dancing to the records that the DJ plays
Lonely-hearted lovers struggle in dark corners
Desperate as the night moves on
Just one look and a whisper, and they’re gone
Beneath the city two hearts beat
Soul engines running through a night so tender in a bedroom locked
In whispers of soft refusal and then surrender in the tunnels uptown
The Rat’s own dream guns him down as shots echo down them hallways in the night
No one watches when the ambulance pulls away
Or as the girl shuts out the bedroom light
Outside the street’s on fire in a real death waltz
Between what’s flesh and what’s fantasy and the poets down here
Don’t write nothing at all, they just stand back and let it all be
And in the quick of the night they reach for their moment
And try to make an honest stand but they wind up wounded, not even dead
Tonight in Jungleland*

Disgraceful New youtube video design is unacceptable with unseen ratings
Disgraceful New youtube video design is unacceptable with unseen ratings to be rick rolled
Have a look on my channel to see how much i hate this new layout with no ratings to see. People often mislabel things to frustrate others & so we being able to see the ratings IE be forewarned who the dumb-asses were that were mislabeling videos & therefore needed to have one stars no youtube is protecting this imbeciles so i ask is youtube gt a bunch of them on the designing board?
Content owner: WMG & badwolf. good video from them. I agree & like freedom of speech & things that work. Thus Youtube should never remove things that work like 5 star ratings.
Heres a video that explains why we need ratings shown because even if the uploader doesn’t want to have ratings we are warned that it may be fake ie a mislabel which this video is & is just spam for his own political views. Does Youtube want to adhere to this political spamming?

Never Alone By Barlow Girl
I love this song. =)
I waited for you today
But you didn’t show
No no no
I needed You today
So where did You go?
You told me to call
Said You’d be there
And though I haven’t seen You
Are You still there?
[Chorus:]
I cried out with no reply
And I can’t feel You by my side
So I’ll hold tight to what I know
You’re here and I”m never alone
And though I cannot see You
And I can’t explain why
Such a deep, deep reassurance
You’ve placed in my life
We cannot separate
‘Cause You’re part of me
And though You’re invisible
I’ll trust the unseen
[Chorus]
We cannot separate
You’re part of me
And though You’re invisible
I’ll trust the unseen
[Chorus]
