Love is blind, what does it mean?
Does not love make us more seeing?
How do then blind people experience love? Was not Helen Keller also blind and still she said that. The Bible gives me a deep, comforting sense that "things seen are temporal and things unseen are eternal." Or another quote from her: "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. "
Do you have some other thoughts concerning the saying that "Love is blind"?
To say that love is blind is an expression, not a literal fact. When you love someone, you blind yourself to their human imperfections, focusing only on their finer qualities. If you love someone enough, you can be forgive their faults. Consider John: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish; but have everlasting life." (1) Christ blinded Himself to our faults, forgave them, and through His love our kind is able to "see with their eyes, hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts." (2) The senses of the spirit are indeed not of the physical world. For "that which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit, is spirit." (3) Spiritual gifts have no physical boundary, above or below. Such is love.

Well in my own experience love indeed can be blind. My current girlfriend and i shared a class our first year in college. We had been very close friends, and then we had both realized we had something for eachother, but not for about 3 yrs after. The love of my life was right under my nose all of those years. Love can be blind.

I believe it means that even though we see the faults of the one we love, we continue to love them. We don’t hold their faults against them. Sometimes this is good, and sometimes it goes way too far. We also need to be able to judge whether the faults are superficial or whether they are harmful.

To say love is blind is to say that it’s what’s on the inside that counts.
If one is blind, one cannot judge upon appearance, but instead on character.
Attraction can only see, it uses no other senses. But it is those other senses that love steals from it to use in it’s infinite purity.

The statement isn’t meant literally. "See" means to understand, to know or comprehend. When in love, people "see" what thyey want to see in the person they love. They overlook faults and emphasize good qualities.

the quote had nothing to do with the literal ability to see people. The quote means that "love" can lead you to accept or process things in another person that you wouldn’t in a complete stranger. Love creates bias. An example… we’d all condemn a story about a man who beat his wife… and yet many victims of such brutality, women, would still claim to love that man and perceive good, redeeming qualities…
That’s the context in which that quote is meant. That you’d turn a blind eye to ugly personality characteristics of a person because you know them and know their vulnerabilities. The idea that love blinds us from seeing someone objectively.

i think the term means when you are first in love with someone you do not see their "flaws", you ignore any red flags you may have or your gut feelings go out the window because you are so in love with someone!!
blind people are no exception!! i am sure they feel love, they do not need to see it!!

It means that sometimes we don’t see things that would normally bother us about people…..

All of those examples were beauitful. Love is way deeper than we could ever imagine because the heart and mind coincide with each other and do amazing things. Love aprehends us simply because what we see is not love, it’s lust. That’s why love is sometimes blind too.

There is an Album by jagjit singh, he specialises in Ghazals(a type of singing), one of his albums is eponymous to your question, The album is ‘love is blind’. One of the songs has the following couplet:
"Aap kahein to mar jaayein hum, Aap kahein to jee lete hain"
meaning,
" if you say die, then i can die; but if you say live, then i can live"
I think this is why love is blind, as the biggest questions of life and death start depending on the answer of the beloved.

When we fall in love, we become fools, and therefore, we become blind. We tend to have love blind our judgments. When it comes to decision making, heart will always beat brain.

this is wht is meant by the term Love is blind..
The Love that is blind is that the kind of love that throws stardust, chemicals hormones in our eyes..This is the love that deceives, that does not allow us to see the the black heart, the con, the lie.
There are two types of love. Many of us are having trouble choosing the right one.

Shakespeare wanted to tell us something…
NEGATIVE
Love blinds us to the truth about others and even about ourselves…. It blinds us to the imperfections of the people we love…. It makes them seem so flawless- so perfect…. but they’re not…..
POSITIVE
Love is not all about physical appearance nor is it about proximity…. It’s about what you feel when you close your eyes… when you don’t have the chance to judge what you see…

A person who makes you laugh, feel good as a person, helps in making you proud of yourself. If that person was just average looking, after time because of WHAT they are, they begin to look more attractive.
A person of great physical beauty, who is a whinny, demanding, self absorbed b—h.You notice only the blemishes that they have, the beauty is gone.Their attitude dulls the luster of life quickly
