Why do atheists (in practice) use the Bible’s definition of faith for their own world view?
"Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."
Atheist claim: there are no deities
Atheists know that this claim can never be proven or evidenced in anyway. It is a claim that exists only in the absence of evidence, and if you close your eyes tight enough, you’ll never see any evidence and your claim will be safe.
Thus, the atheist claim is a hope of something unprovable and therefore will always be unseen. It is the very definition of "unseen".
Wrong, oh maker of Straw Wh*res; Atheist position: Due to there being no evidence for any deities, I do not believe in any of them.
The Burden Of Proof applies to the affirmative claimants for a thing; IE, Theists. So far, AbZero from those lunatics…

No, because FSM is real. Christians tell me there are no such things as FSM. Non-pastafarians know that this claim can never be proven or evidenced in anyway. It is a claim that exists only in the absence of evidence, and if you close your eyes tight enough, you’ll never see any evidence and your claim will be safe.
Thus, the Christian claim is a hope of something unprovable and therefore will always be unseen. It is the very definition of "unseen".

It is not a hope anymore than it is a hope that you do not believe in unicorns or leprechauns.

I don’t hope for things unseen, for there not to be a god.
Your entire argument is negated by the fact that athism cannot be a faith or belief for the very reason that we do not need to prove anything for our view to be true. Nor do we need to hope for or pray for our view to be true.

Your posts do nothing to convince me there’s a magic man in the sky. Sorry.

It’s not up to atheists to prove that there are no deities. You can’t prove a negative statement. For example, if I believe that unicorns exist, and you do not, how would you "prove" that they do not? You wouldn’t have to! As the person claiming that unicorns exist, it is my responsibility to prove that statement.
So, if you have actual evidence of a god (other than "this book says so" – I can literally write a book to say ANYTHING) please share. We’re all eyes.

My word, that is an awful argument. I can’t disprove the existence of God, correct, but I also can’t disprove the existence of fairies, but that doesn’t mean fairies actually exist. This is basic stuff. You can’t prove that fairies of Horus don’t exist, but that doesn’t mean you’re going to believe in fairies or Horus, right? Your belief that fairies don’t exist is unprovable and will also remain "unseen" (to use your ridiculous phrasing).
Think about what you’re saying before you post a question, okay? Your argument makes very little sense.

The only people I have seen who use that bastardized definition of faith are Christians. Have you actually heard an atheist use that bastardized definition of faith, or are you, once again, lying?
